Pacific Coast Highway: Aberdeen, WA ...

The city of Aberdeen is located in Grays Harbor County, WA state... the city has a population of aprox. 16,900 people.

Aberdeen is called the Gateway to the Olympic Peninsula because it is located at the mouth of the Chehalis River, which spills into Grays Harbor, which opens up into the Pacific Ocean.

Aberdeen was named for a local salmon cannery to reflect its Scottish fishing port namesake of Aberdeen and because it was also situated at the mouth of 2 rivers like its namesake Aberdeen Scotland.

Aberdeen was incorporated on May 12, 1890 and was a big Sawmill/Limber town earlier in it's history ... today, Aberdeen is trying to move from a Timber town to a Tourist town.

While in town visit the Aberdeen Museum of History to learn more about the area's history.
