Peninsula.Port Angeles features a 3 mile long natural sand-spit that
protrudes itself north-easterly nearly three miles into the ocean... this
sand-spit creates a natural deep-water harbor that's protected from rough
seas... the harbor is deep enough to provide anchorage for large ocean-going
ships, tankers, and cruise ships.

event in itself if the weather & visibility is good.
Port Angeles is a busy industrial city, but has diversified it's traditional
dependence on natural resources into a bustling tourist destination.
Port Angeles is located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, which
means the city gets significantly less rain than other areas of western
Washington which are located near the heart of the rain forest.
