The city of Port Angeles is located in Clallam County, WA state ... the city has a population of aprox. 19,100 people... the city is located at the center of the northern Olympic Peninsula.

Port Angeles features a 3 mile long natural sand-spit that protrudes itself north-easterly nearly three miles into the ocean... this sand-spit creates a natural deep-water harbor that's protected from rough seas... the harbor is deep enough to provide anchorage for large ocean-going ships, tankers, and cruise ships.

Ferries depart daily to Victoria British Columbia and shuttle people & cars across the Strait of Juan de Fuca back & forth between Victoria and Port Angeles daily ... Victoria is the capital city of BC and is a very popular tourist destination ... the Ferry ride from Port Angeles to Victoria takes aprox. 1.5 hours and is a scenic event in itself if the weather & visibility is good.

Port Angeles is a busy industrial city, but has diversified it's traditional dependence on natural resources into a bustling tourist destination.

Port Angeles is located in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, which means the city gets significantly less rain than other areas of western Washington which are located near the heart of the rain forest.

Port Angeles is also the location of the headquarters of Olympic National Park, which encompasses most of the Olympic Mountains,
